High temperature thermal analysis is a key technique in several steps of the nuclear fuel cycle. Studies of sintering of uranium oxide powder, corrosion behaviour of the Zircalloy employed to seal UO2, or design of materials used in the reactor vessel (which are exposed to high temperature). Moreover, the thermal activity of different kind of wastes, immersed in bitumen, concrete, glass or other ceramic based matrixes can be measured by our high sensitivity, high volume calorimeters.

The application of the SETARAM instruments include:
– Uranium conversion and enrichment
– high temperature corrosion
– zircalloy reactivity
– stability of treated wastes
