INTRODUCTION

MicroDSCII is used to study the micellisation of poloxamer solution (which is a surfactant) in presence of propofol (2,6-diisopropylphenol). The high sensitivity of microDSCIII makes it possible such a study and also the influence of the concentration of propofol on the transition of micellisation.

EXPERIMENTAL

Sample F127 polymer (EO99PO69EO99) at 0.0016mol dm-3 + propofol in various level. The temperature is programmed between 5°C and 60°C at 0.5K/min..

RESULTS

During heating the micellisation process is characterized by an endothermic effect. The heat of micellisation is 142kJ/mol of PPO when no propofol is in the solution. Figures on the curve correspond to propofol concentration.
